BKP Waste and Recycling have invested in various developments at their site in Romsey, Southampton, to improve their waste management facility and treatment plant to operate to the highest environmental standards taking place across 2022. As part of these developments, BKP have recently completed the installation and commissioning of a decanter centrifuge system.

The centrifuge system allows us to effectively dewater sludges and wastes with high suspended solids in batch processes. This means we can tailor the treatment process to ensure maximum recovery outputs and efficiencies are achieved. The solids we produce are treated further and diverted from landfill into UK recovery options, or exported for energy recovery with a European treatment partner.

The first phase of building and demolition works began in July 2022, ready for the further developments and improvements at the site over the coming months.
